Brown Sugar Pound Cake

 

Bake 300º for 2 hours.  Slow.

 

3 cups flour

½ tsp salt

½ tsp baking powder             

1 cup butter

½ cup Crisco

1 cup dark brown sugar packed

2 cups white sugar

5 eggs

1 scant cup milk

1 tbs almond extract

1 tbs vanilla extract

(2 cups pecans)

 

Sift flour, salt and powder.

Cream butter and Crisco. Slowly add sugars and beat until fluffy.

Add eggs, one at a time and mix well.

Mix milk and extracts together.

Alternating between milk and flour add to the butter mixture.

Pour in greased and floured tube pan.  Bake.  Cool and remove.
