Angel Food Cake from Granny

 

Cold Oven. 350º  1 hour

 

1 cup plus 2 tbs cake flour.  Sift 5 times with ¾ cup sugar.

 

12 egg whites plus ½ tsp salt. Beat until foamy.  Gradually, add 1½ tsp cream of tarter.

 

Sprinkle in 1 cup sugar gradually.  Beat till forms stiff peaks, but not dry.

 

Add in ½ tsp vanilla.

 

Fold in flour mixture gradually.

 

Ungreased tube pan.  Invert to cool.
